Sandra was a regular visitor/student at a small temple dedicated to the gods of
nature, which was situated at the edge of a forest on a picturesque stream.
The nature-priest, one Olivier (it is not clear if this is his first, family,
or false name), was managing it, but not very well. In the past he had to
have been a competent leader and priest, but the last couple of years he had
become a gambling, drinking, good-for-nothing. His religeous task were mostly
taken over by the faithful Sexton, one Jacqueline, in addition to all kinds of
janitorial tasks she had, but even her boundless effort could not prevent that
the temple eventually ceased operations and was replaced by a watermill.
When the temple ceased operations, Sexton 'Jaq' was given by Olivier, in part
as thanks for the work done and in part as an attempt to secure and preserve
them just in case, a number of "valuable relics" from the temple's inventory
(mainly old junk that even Olivier hadn't been able to flog off for cash) as
starting equipment, and went forth into the wider world in search of further
making herself useful in this life.
Sandra in turn also has managed to save some of the inventory and is trying in
her own way to follow the good example of sexton Jacqueline, by employing her
knowledge and skills in the wider world, and thus, hopefully, gather enough
kapital to be able to re-found the small tmeple that she had such a great
youth. She did learn some things during her time as an acolyte c.q. ranger-in-training, but is mostly dependent on her own bold- and resourcefulness. Perhaps that her adventurers will make her realise the wisdom of the lessons some more and make an even better person out of her, that will be less egoistically inclined?
